COACH JIMMY WALKER

Jimmy Walker is 27 years old and entering his fourth year as head boys basketball and baseball coach at CCS. He is a graduate of Northside Christian School in Texarkana where he earned All-State honors in basketball in Texas 2A his junior and senior year. In 2002 he surrendered to the ministry and was called into Christian education. He completed his BS of Education from Southern Arkansas University in 2004 where he played baseball for the Muleriders for 3 years and worked as a student assistant coach for two years. He is currently working on his Masters in Educational Administration from Pensacola Christian College. His wife, Julie, and he have two children, Judd and Adley.

 

He has compiled a record of 74 wins and 21 losses over his 3 years here. Last year his junior high boys’ team went undefeated and has lost only 3 games in the past 3 years. His varsity boys team lost their only game of this past season in the semi-finals of the State Tournament finishing the year with a record of 21 - 1. With all 5 starters returning and a strong bench they look to go all the way this year.

 

 


 

COACH MARILYN WILKIE

 

 

 

Marilyn Wilkie is the Sr. varsity Volleyball and Basketball coach. She is married to Butch Wilkie and they have four children: Laura, Bill, Amy, and Jon. All four children graduated from Grace Christian Academy. Two precious grandchildren make up the Wilkie clan: Ashlyn Stamps, 1, and Landon Langley, 6. She has worked at Grace Christian and then Columbia Christian for 28 years.

 

She volunteered and coached many of those years. Since 1998 her teams have won many trophies: 1998-1999 Sr. Girls conference champs, 2nd Pre-season tournament; 1999-2000 conference champs, tournament champs, 1st Pre-season tournament; 2000-2001 1st ALCAL conference (17-0); 2001-2002 1st conference, 2nd post-season tournament; 2002-2003 1st conference (18-0), 1st tournament; 2003-2004 2nd conference; 2004-2005 1st Volleyball conference, 1st Volleyball tournament, 2nd basketball conference; 2005-2006 2nd volleyball conference, 1st Volleyball tournament, 1st Basketball conference, 1st Basketball tournament; 2006-2007 2nd Volleyball conference, 1st Volleyball tournament, 3rd Basketball tournament.


When she is not coaching, you will find her enjoying yard work and maybe a little sewing or crocheting.  Mrs. Wilkie loves coaching because it gives her a chance to know the girls individually. Each and everyone become her “children” as they graduate. Coaching is a fantastic opportunity to teach them about life.

 

 

 

 

COACH DONNA SCROGGINS

 

 

 

 

Donna Scroggins has been here since fall of 1999. She is a graduate of Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. She played basketball two years for the Lady Gamecocks. She began coaching in fall of 2002. She has coached JV boys and girls basketball and JV girls volleyball since 2005. She has a coaching record of 103 – 34. Mrs. Scroggins has been the director of Upward Soccer for two seasons. She has been head coach of our co-ed varsity soccer team since spring of 2005.

 

Donna is married to Bro. Stan Scroggins, minister of music and education at First Baptist Church, Magnolia AR. She has two daughters, Leslie and Kelsey. Lesley is married to Bro. Graham Hale and they reside in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Kelsey is a junior at UALR. August 13th, 2007 is the day her life changed and God blessed her with her first grandchild, Ava Grace Hale. This is her greatest victory to date.

 

 

 

COACH LINDSEY GRIFFIN

 

 

 

 

Lindsey Griffin, was born and raised here in Magnolia. She is 25 years old and is in her second year as JV girls assistant coach at Columbia Christian School. After graduating from Columbia Christian School in 2000, she attended Southern Arkansas University. She graduated from SAU in 2006 with a BS in Education. She teaches K-6 grade physical education. She is the assistant coach for JV girls volleyball and basketball, and Varsity soccer. Her coaching record is 23-3.
