Although we have not arrived, excellence remains one of the highest priorities as we strive to serve as willing hands and feet of God's character and of His amazing works. In keeping this commitment, we strive to offer the following to CCS students and parents:
++ Effective, well-trained Christian teachers who love the Lord and your child(ren)
++ Nurturing classrooms managed by teachers who are committed to their personal Quest for Excellence and who strive to model the fruit of the Spirit in all of their lives. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness and self control. (Gal. 5:22)
++ Daily Bible instruction: every subject taught is integrated with the truths and Christian values contained in the Bible. Students also take Bible classes each day. Prayer is an important part of every student's school day.
++ Because Columbia Christian School is biblically based. Teachers teach Biblical views which are held in common by churches that agree the Bible is the Word of God, and that Jesus Christ is the Risen Son of God and the only way to salvation. The loving grace of our Lord Jesus extends to all people who call upon the name of the Lord.
++ All students are taught to seek forgiveness for sin, accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, take personal initiative to study God's Word and make it their primary objective to love, serve and honor Jesus Christ.
++ Rigorous educational instruction at a level which students can succeed with reasonable effort. Reasoning, critical thinking skills and internalization of Christian values are important educational goals.
++ Teachers to view parents as the primary educators of their children under God. Christian teachers receive their authority to teach children from parents.
++ Parents can expect written or personal communication from teachers to allow parents to provide added assistance to the student in time to raise a grade should an academic grade begin to slip. Parents are always welcome at school and parent/teacher conferences may be arranged through the school office. If student difficulties or differences with the school arise, Columbia Christian School is committed to working with parents and students to resolve the issue.
++ Kindergarten classes do not exceed 20 students. Primary class sizes are normally no larger than 20 students. Intermediate classes will normally be no larger than 23 students. Most junior high and high school academic classes are below 30 students. The principal may approve larger class sizes to resolve scheduling issues.
++ Columbia Christian School's Quest for Excellence is a commitment to do all things heartily, as to the Lord. (Col. 3:23) Excellence in every aspect of our school is our goal. We look forward to you joining this Quest and becoming a part of Columbia Christian School.
